How to Check?

If you have applied already Use ‘My Application’ icon on the Menu page to Check the CAO Application Status

Select and enter one of the following
Step 1 : Select CAO/ ID Number/ Passport Number
Step 2 : Enter the Number (as per your selection) and Click Submit button.

Online Application

Step 1 : If you are new to this site Go to the CAO official website to apply online.

Step 2 : Click the Apply link in the home page and read the following instructions carefully

** If you have already submitted an application form, please do not submit a duplicate application via the Internet.
** The CAO will only accept one application form from you for a specific entry year and term.
** Have your school and tertiary study details handy before you start.

Step 3 : After that click Continue with Application link

Step 4 : Select Your ID Number/ Passport Number and Enter the same [D23145890]

Instructions

1. If you already have an active application on the system you can make changes to your programme choices for a fee of R100.

2. Once you have completed your application, you will be able to check it, make corrections and print a copy.
3. Your application will be made available to the institutions once payment has been received.

What happens next :
1. The CAO will send you an acknowledgement letter by email, fax or post confirming receipt of your application and payment

2. If there are mistakes or if information is missing email us at enqgeneralcao [AT] cao.ac.za or write the corrections on the acknowledgement letter and post a copy back to us or fax it to 086 622 8828.

Note : Please contact us if you do not receive this acknowledgement letter within one month after you have applied.

Step 6 : Enter Your Address For Postal Deliveries
Step 6.1 : Enter Your Post Code* [0001]
Step 6.2 : Enter Your Address* [123 Jacob Mare Street Pretoria]

Step 7 : Enter Your Phone details like Home Number, Fax Number
Step 7.1 : Enter Your Cellphone Number [01112345678900]
Step 7.2 : Enter another phone number if we can’t contact you
Step 8 : Accept the Terms & Conditions
Step 9 : Click on the Next button

The benefits of applying early is that you stand a chance of winning one of 4 bursaries ranging from R10000 to R20000.

User Login

User click the Login link in the Menu bar and enter the following details,
Step 1 : Enter Your Login/CAO Number [9741326]
Step 2 : Enter Your Password
Step 3 : Click Login button

If you Forgot your Password, Please fill in all fields below to receive your password
Step 4 : Enter Your CAO No [9741326]
Step 5 : Select Type of ID – None/South African/Passport
Step 6 : Enter Your ID/Passport No [D23145890]
Step 7 : Enter Your Surname [Christopher]
Step 8 : Please type the code into the block below exactly as shown (case sensitive)
Step 9 : Select How would you like to receive your verification code? – Email/SMS
Step 10 : Click Submit button

Terms & Conditions

** Application fees are not refundable.
** Admissions are limited by the number of places available.
** Applicants are responsible for checking their acknowledgement letters and informing the CAO of any inaccuracies.

** Offers of places may be withdrawn if the conditions are not met or if institutions discover that you have provided false information in your application for admission.

Study Permits

** Apply to the South African Embassy, High Commission, Consulate or Trade Office for a Study Permit
** Acceptance by an institution does not place any obligation on the South African government to issue or renew Study Permits.

** The permit currently costs R425, and must be renewed annually.
** Registered refugees and asylum seekers and others with Residence Permits allowing them to study do not require Study Permits.

    I ECCIDENTLY FILLED THE FORM WITH THE WRONG SURNAME
    I WROTE MBONAMBI INSTEAD OF MBOKAZI….
